After the 2019 South Jersey Immigration Forum

 We send a heartfelt thank you to the 62 attendees, participants and volunteers who turned out on November 20, to learn more about immigrants in South Jersey and how we can help them.

The evening began with four presentations.

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers (SJFMC) with several 
locations, serves year-round residents and migrant and seasonal workers;

     Migrant Education for the nine southern counties of NJ is operated by 
     Gloucester County Special Services School District (GCSSSD);

Speaker Luis Lacourt at the Burlington County Library information table 
   
Burlington County Library System offers free English as a Second 
Language classes, literacy tutoring, computer assistance & other resources;

International Women's Friendship Group with monthly meetings offers activities 
where International women can meet American women to share each others 
cultures and traditions; Jeanne Hoffner, Facilitator

Following a discussion period, everyone moved to the social hall 
to visit information tables and enjoy light refreshments.

Each of the presenting groups had an information table.
*Two additional groups that serve immigrants also had information tables:

Volunteers Andre Biehl, Char Jennings & Copelia Morales at the Migrant Worker Outreach information table
  
     Migrant Worker Outreach & Haitian Migrant Worker Outreach, with a mission
     of welcoming migrant workers to New Jersey, offers English classes, field trips,
     a nutrition program for families with young children, social activities, and more.

     American Red Cross offers the Family Links program, helping connect family
     members following a humanitarian crisis, including natural disaster, war,
    migration and other events impacting safety and survival.

  2. Following the forum, we published a Commemorative Highlights booklet. You can get a pdf file of the booklet by emailing your request to: MedfordVolunteerCenter@Mail.Com. *A hard copy of the booklet is available at Pinelands Branch Library and at some other South Jersey libraries.
